ADJUSTMENT / SEPARATION
Sherbie is more sociable and comfortable in the classroom and playground areas and has some friends. She works and plays coopperatively and independently, accepts some responsibilities, exhibits self-control, is able to relate to adults and other children and shows good attention span and concentration. Although she is quite shy, she has adjusted to the school routines.
SELF - HELP SKILLS
Sherbie is toilet trained. She can dress and undress herself, drink from a cup, serve herself snack, eat some lunch, throw her plate away, clean up some of her spills, take out and return her blanket, take nap independently sometimes, get her footwear on and return most of the activities to the proper shelves. She is helpful in caring for the children and the classroom activities.
GROSS MOTOR SKILLS
Sherbie is good at hopping, jumping, climbing on the play structure, swinging, riding on the hourse rocker, crawling through the tunnel, kicking a ball, pushing a cart, riding the toddler cars and trykes, bouncing on the big ball and digging in the sand box.
FINE MOTOR SKILLS
Sherbie uses the art markers, paste,, glue sticks, crayons and chalk, paints with a brush, water pour and transfer, do puzzles with many pieces, link pop-beads, tweeze cotton balls into containers, build with assortment of blocks, sort geometric shapes, stack towers, use the ink stamps, blow bubble, use the playdough and work on simple art projects. She use the pincer grasp for most of the manipulatives like the puzzles and grapsing activities' She is also learning to snip with the scissors.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Sherbie can verbalize all of the basic colours plus white, black and pink and all the basic geometric shapes plus diamond and octagon. She knows her numbers from 0-9. She slao knows most of her ABC up to letter P. She speaks in simple sentences with good articulation skills. Her vocabulary skills have increased tremendously and she enjoys looking at books, singing songs, fingerplays, dance movements and playing identificaion games.
COMMENTS
Sherbie is a wonderful child and it has been a pleasure to have in my class.
