in Lauren's and your home.
The class watched a short story on mommy's computer about the monster named Year. He is a monster from the ocean,
and scares the people and animals, "I'm very hungry," he says as he eats the plants and flowers in his path. The wise peddler tells them not to be afraid. There are three things to do to stop him. The first is
firecracker,
the second is red paper, and the third is the lion. They do all three things and the Year goes back to the ocean. However, once every year he comes back. But we are not scared because we remember the three things
to do to stop him. It is a very cute story.
Mommy and Lauren's mom
brought things Chinese to share with the class, tangerines,cow ears(kind of a cracker/cookie), a smiling face(puffy cookie), and melon seeds, and
candied coconut.We learned how to greet our friends by exchanging two tangerines and clasping our hands while bowing.
We made couplets, red banners with our picture to hang in our home.

and Lauren's mom also decorated your class room with lovely decorations. The decorations look fantastic!
Larken shared his lion head by doing a little dance.
